Dr Shuen’s clinic ‘Genaissance’ specializes in precision medicine. About Dr. Shuen
Dr Shuen completed his medical genetics training at McGill, and later practiced in Ontario where he has over 10 years of clinical experience diagnosing and managing patients with cancer predisposition syndromes (e.g. Lynch, BRCA1/2).
During this time, he completed a PhD in cancer genetics at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), studying a cancer predisposition syndrome called constitutional mismatch repair deficiency, a childhood disorder where children develop blood, brain and colon cancer.
He is also President of Progenics Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell banking in Toronto. He plans to pursue research in stem cell therapies to treat and reverse chronic conditions.
He later plans to pursue post-doctoral studies in stem cell therapies to treat and reverse chronic conditions.
