A concerning spot on your skin?
Get it seen quickly.

CheckMark offers rapid assessment of skin lesions that may be cancerous, reviewed by a BC dermatologist. Start with a no-fee virtual referral appointment through Rocket Doctor.

Available in British Columbia. A referral from a physician is required before booking with CheckMark.

What is CheckMark?

Rapid skin cancer assessment, without the long wait.

CheckMark provides fast, focused assessment of one or two lesions that may be concerning for skin cancer. A BC dermatologist reviews high-quality dermoscopic images taken at a participating pharmacy and returns a report, typically within about a week.

It’s designed for speed and convenience when you’ve noticed a specific spot, mole, or mark you want a specialist to look at.

What CheckMark is, and isn't

CheckMark assesses one to two specific lesions of concern for patients 18 and older.

It does not provide full skin exams, general dermatology for rashes or non-cancer conditions, assessment of three or more spots at once, or review of spots in intimate areas or covered by hair or tattoos. If any of these apply, a traditional in-person dermatology visit is the better path.

A referral is needed before CheckMark can confirm your rapid skin cancer photography appointment.

Please follow the 5 steps below to book a same-day, no-fee, virtual referral appointment.

How it works

1

Book a virtual referral appointment.
Meet with a Rocket Doctor BC physician.

2

Get your referral.
If CheckMark is appropriate for you, your physician sends the referral directly to their team.

3

Visit a participating pharmacy.
CheckMark books your appointment. A trained pharmacy team member takes high-quality photos of the spot.

4

A dermatologist reviews your images
A licensed BC dermatologist assesses the images and prepares a report.

5

Receive your results
Your report goes to both you and your referring physician. CheckMark arranges any needed follow-up, such as a biopsy or in-person care, directly with you.

Who it's for?

Are 18 or older

Have one or two specific spots, moles, or marks you're concerned about

Want a faster, more convenient assessment

Are comfortable having photos taken by a trained technician rather than a dermatologist in person

If you have more than two lesions of concern, want a full skin exam, or have a lesion in an intimate or covered area, an in-person dermatology appointment is the better fit.

Don't wait on a spot that's worrying you.
